Go, Goa

Close to five hundred kilometres were covered
The road got good, better, worse, and better
Twisting through forest land, ascending, descending
Sights, delightful; sounds, pleasantly absent
Monkeys in plentiful, a waterfall or two
Stop, go, stop, go; there before you know it

Paved paths leading to Portugal cottages
Water snakes slithering in the well by the pool
Frogs, critters, birds, sounding their presence
Trees, plants, shrubs, creepers, mushrooms

Settled and up, off to the shore
Waves below the cliff, wind in the face
Hawking hawkers, gawking gawkers
Nothing seemingly out of place

Lowly taxed alcohol, quite the highlight
First interactions with the green fairy, welcome indeed
No smoking signs with ashtrays in plentiful
No nosiness noticed

Off-season calm, peace and quiet
Harem pants, bongs, bongos, and what not
Them, who spent the night at the beach
Human beings and dogs alike

Roads, highways and otherwise, well made
Bridges where there were ferries
Development, through, ought to wait
There is, as usual, much at stake

Oh Lord, dear God
Let the lazy laze

Goa
