Café Shanti

Café Shanti and its hope
Where patrons mostly rely on dope
Getting through their days
Unravelling life’s twisted maze

The pace is lazy, there is no hurry
The food, dare I say, not so much of a worry
Sandwiches, pastas, curries, and the likes
Embracing newfound fondness’ and dislikes

The Ganga flows quietly on its own
The breeze, causing the leaves to rustle
Coltrane’s saxophone, a few notches louder
Lending a sense of eroticism to it all

The animal farm
The no-meat policy
The discerning demeanour
Plenty of fervour

Café Shanti and its hope
Expanding in mental scope
Where songs are sung and stories told
Watching many a chapters unfold
Cafe Shanti - poetry
